The most important moment of 2009

This year was very happening for me in terms of events... some of them were
1) Meeting his parent's
2) My engagement
3) Doing well @ work, winning an award
4) Launch of our product @ work
5) APG winning best showcase 09

But the most important and memorable was on 28th Nov was my wedding :)

Due to all these happenings I haven't been able to blog much. I have a lot of posts stored up in my head... hope they will come out on the screen in 2010....

HP6- A muvie or a spoof???

I was so excited about the HP-6 movie that I actually bought exorbitantly priced tickets to a paid preview on Thursday and ran away from a shit load of work to catch the movie, and then I ended up leaving the movie hall with just one wish... to kill David Yates. Let me list down everything that is wrong with the movie.

1) DID the Director READ the BOOK at all????
2) So the start was ok and I was eagerly waiting for the movie to get better and then suddenly we are in Hogwarts where Dumbuldore start teaching Harry or rather showing the memories he has collected, but where was the memory of Gaunt. It is the one that tells Voldermort is actually a descendant of Salazar Slytherin.
3) Did we really need to see Ron snogging Lavendar Brown?
4) Was the scene where Hermoine sets the birds on Ron required?
5) Isn't it time the 3 leads actually emoted?
6) Why burn down the Burrow??? Harry needs it next year
7) the only scene that lived upto the expectations was the one at the cave. Also no importance was given to dumbuldore finding and destroying the horcrux in the ring of Slytherin.
8) The theory behind why certain abjects are horcruxes and why they are hidden in certain places is what lets Harry find them in the next part but that was completely missing in this movie!!!
9) And many more....
.
.
.
100) Now for the BIGGEST BLOOPER : Harry's greatest power : the Love he feels for his friends. So how could Harry just watch Snape kill Dumbeldore... in the book he was stunned and so couldn't intervene. This is RUBBISH!!!

The most memorable moment of my life

The India vs Sri Lanka match was going to happen in Pune. But Crap!!!! my 9th std Hindi paper was on the same day at the same time. Lady luck has never favoured me!!! But then a messiah arrived impersonating as my mom's friend. He could take me in to the stadium during the practice session, one day before. I started dancing, got my autograph book and camera together. Got dressed in my favourite dungarees and kept about 5 pens in my various pockets, I was all set to meet my first crush, the love of my life RAHUL DRAVID and the icing on the cake... the rest of the men in blue too :) :) :)

The next day I went, met the MIB, spoke to them, even took photos with them but THE  incident that is itched in my mind like it was yesterday. The practice was over. The Sri Lankans had left and the police had formed a human cordon to make a path for Team India to pass. Rahul Dravid was the last one to leave , his hands were full of cricketing gear. A huge bag, 2 bats, gloves pads, etc etc. Just as he passed me, I took out my hand as if to shake hands with him and said "Goodbye". I realised my stupidity, in front of a lot of people I didn't know, I was going to be embarrassed, not because RD is impolite or rude but because he didn't have his hands free to respond to my invitation to shake a hand.

But Jammy is as sweet as his nickname. to my surprise and the shock of everyone present, he handed some of his stuff to a near by policeman, freed one hand shook hands with me and then collected his gear and went on leaving me even more love struck than before. Is it a wonder that I still idolize him and can't tolerate a word being said against him?

This happened in 1999. Many will ask why I am writing about it a decade later.

Because, the most memorable moment in my life is going to change. I still love Rahul Dravid but he is no longer the love of my life, that place belongs to another Rahul now. So before the incident becomes the second most memorable moment in my life, I wanted to put it in words so that I could read it over some years down the line and relive the joy I felt whenever I thought about it.

A reply

Recently...I cam across a post about how women can't grasp basic physics law here... I have some answers to these :

1) Law of constant volume: The volume of an object is constant whichever way you bend it. So the statement, “We can’t fit all the clothes if you just stuff them in the bag. We need to fold the clothes properly” is not valid. - I believe the volume of the suitcase doesn't change...but stuffing clothes will change their dimensions a.k.a. change their volume. ... if my physics-feeble mind is not mistaken this will cause a change in number of items that can fir within the fixed volume suitcase

2) The law of uniform heat transference: It will take exactly the same amount of time for the wet towel to dry whether it is on the towel-hanger or on bed. - true... but it well cause the bed to become damp due to transfer of water... and I don't know about all men.... but I believe most will spread out the towel on the girl's side of the bed!!!

3)Law of non-magnetism of hands: Human hands do not act as magnets to bacteria, virus, germs and other vicious microbes.  Therefore, washing hands more than twice a day is utter waste of one’s valuable time. - Agreed . . . But if I am not mistaken men have to touch themselves to piss... so i think washing your hands after that is advisable. Or do you piss only twice a day?

4) Newton’s First Law: “Don’t throw the car keys in the sofa, you will lose them” contradicts Newton’s First Law.  The keys will continue to stay at rest on the sofa unless some restless force moves them. - Again true... but often that force is the men sitting on the sofa to watch T.V. and shoving the keys under sofa cushions so that they don't poke them!!!

He has a some 4-5 more... all of which i can give common sense replies to...but i m too bored.... so will skip that...
My conclusion... Don't call your sloth and/or lack of common sense/hygiene as incapability of women to grasp physics....

The hidden meaning of my name.....

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

Bangalore Speed Breakers

Everyday morning, I come for work and I end up getting irritated by the ten thousand speed breakers that are there.

All apartment complexes put them up, one before the entry gate and one after the exit gate. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that people speed past gates without paying attention if any vehicles are coming out or not. So these are necessary. But isn't there some standard for the height and length of these speed breakers???

The length is really less barely there types. . . But the height is huge...i think they are in a competition to become the Mount Everest of speed breakers. My crib is because of these weird proportions they always scrape the machinery of my bike. even if I go over them at a speed of 5kph. I have even tried stopping and pushing my vehicle over them but no difference.

I believe the authorities are useless, if they couldn't do anything against people attacking women, then they won't even be bothered to regulate speed breakers. But we as a part of apartment complexes can at least make sure that our own apartment complexes put up proportionate speed breakers and that to only if they are needed!!!

My Superhero self

My demons

It’s a long road up ahead

And I have to travel it on my own

Its not the hardships that make me pause

Its not the perils that make me think twice

It’s the fear of being all alone that

sends a chill running up my spine

The thought of dying alone,

without anyone to say goodbye to,

that brings out the goosebumps on my skin

I wonder what I would like my epitaph to read

A sudden pause, A heavy pause,

as I chilling thought makes it way into my head

will there be someone to even put me in a grave?

Let alone carve out a message in my remembrance

I do not fear insects, I do not fear rodents

I do not fear demons, I do not fear devils

I do not fear vampires, I do not fear witches

I do not fear death, I do not fear torment in hell

I fear torment on earth, the torment of being lonely

Not alone but lonely, where my thoughts remain unheard

My emotions untold, my memories unshared.

Lost

She is lost...
lost in this big world
lost in her own private world...

is she a mother?
or maybe a daughter?
no wait isn't she a wife?
oh but she is also a friend
she is an aunt, a niece a sister, even a cousin

but exactly who is she?
what is her identity?
are these relations all that she is?
or is there more to her?

over the years,
she has lost herself
lost parts of her to each of these relations
till there is nothing left but a shell

and now that she is all alone
she wonders can the shell exist?
is her identity lost forever
or can she find herself again?

with these questions in her mind
she starts a new journey
a journey to find herself
have her own identity
and at the same time
not lose out on any relationship

Okk... tats my pathetic attempt at poem writing ... inspired by the feminist in me and a song from the movie Astitva...

the song goes...

Na mitungi (I will not be destroyed)
Na marungi (I will not die)
Na jalungi   (I will not burn)
Na bujhungi... (I will not be extinguished)

Maine thi (I was)
Maine Hu (I am)
Maine rahungi (I will be)

Managalore Pub attacks

Came across an article on times of india website that exactly echoes my sentiments about all the extremists...

BTW I have a question what exactly is a pub culture??? I don't think there is any... pubbing is just a way to chill out with your friends or meet new people... since when did this become a separate culture???

Being Happy...

Read a quote...liked the philosphy :)

"Nobody really cares if u r miserable. . . So u might as well be happy"

Now if only the entire world would follow this. . . we would have a psuedo-happy world!!!
